To everyone’s surprise, the Maharaja not only loved it but ordered a second serving. When asked about the dish’s name, the chef, having made it in Mysore, aptly named it “Mysore Pak.” This serendipitous creation has since become an integral part of festivals and special occasions in South India.
The core ingredients of Mysore Pak are besan (gram flour), ghee, and sugar syrup, known as “pak” or “paka.” The preparation involves a careful balance of these elements to achieve the perfect texture and flavor.
